Geckos - The Best Lizards To Handle

Geckos are the best for beginners to experts. Geckos are really wonderful lizards. They are extremely colorful with amazing patterns. Most of this type of lizards are very soft and pleasant to handle. Different geckos have different characteristics, and temperaments. They have minimum caging requirements compared to most lizards and are very easy to care for, and require very little maintenance. Most of the geckos require temperatures ranging from 80 to 90 degrees with a basking spot or a heat rock that they can use to digest their food. There are many different types of geckos for you to choose from. I have arranged the geckos into two groups: beginner geckos and intermediate to expert geckos.

Beginner Geckos

Lizards - GeckoThe beginner geckos are generally smaller and have no temperament to a very mild temperament, and are great animals for children or persons that enjoy handling their lizard. These animals are very easy to care for and are generally able to live in a ten gallon terrarium for their entire life. They eat very inexpensive food and are just wonderful animals to care for.

Intermediate To Expert Geckos

The beginner to intermediate geckos are either larger or have a mild to wild temperament. These geckos can grow over a foot in length and require a larger enclosure than a beginner gecko. These lizards are also a little bit more expensive to feed and maintain. They are usually more aggressive and are best for someone who would rather observe their gecko than handle it. All geckos are amazing lizards to have, and are great animals that you will be proud to own.
